We are delighted to have Noble Roots and ASCENT Jewellery join our community of artisans, taking the studio space that previously belonged to ceramicist Gwen Bainbridge.
Noble Roots & ASCENT is husband and wife team, Nathan and Amanda Savory.
With Amanda originally from Cumbria, they returned to the South Lakes after the first lockdown, after meeting and living in the north of Scotland.
Nathan started ASCENT during lockdown while living in the Scottish Highlands. Having been a laser-technician and outdoor instructor, he combined his love of maps, the outdoors and making and started producing laser cut earrings, and hand painting them, for Amanda.
Four years later, he needs to scale up his operations!
Noble Roots combines both intentional woodturning and laser cutting. From hollowed vessels and art pieces to practical elements for your kitchen or desk, these items are designed to last a lifetime.
Nathan started his woodturning business earlier in 2023 and is looking forward to his first dedicated workshop space. He received a bursary from The Worshipful Company Of Turners in 2022, in recognition of his up-and-coming skills and business.
Nathan is able to take commissions for both woodturning and laser cutting.
We invite you to visit Noble Roots and ASCENT’s new studio, open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10am-5pm. You can also visit our other makers and artisans and our new coffee house.
